Is there really an island of lesbos?

my geography is no good and if you guys are just messing with me i'm gonna be upset.

i had my hopes up and stuff.

Yes, there is, I learned about it in English, that's where the word came from.

Vacay!

Chicago, IL

big house, big bed, big tub, big toy collection, big libido

Yeah, its off the souther tip of "Clitoria"

If so I would love to be the towel boy at the city pool. Or at least the guy who passes out flip flops!

YES, of course there is - in the Aegean Sea, east of Greece

Dont wanna be a show off but Ive been there and its a Greek island....and yes the name means exactly what you think!

Yes, in Greek it's pronounced LESVOS.

Yes, Lesvos or Lesbos does exist and is a beautiful Greek island on the Aegean sea. The word lesbian is derived from this island because a citizen of ancient Lesvos named Sappho wrote the earliest known poems and songs about female homosexuality. Lesvos is also called Mytilene, famous for its olive oil and ouzo.

Is the largest Island in the Aegean Sea, Greece, Is believed that it was the pioneer of women homosexuality, not that only lesbians live there. If you want to go to a place where only, or at least the vast majority, live, go to Cathedral City near Palm Springs, Lezbo Heaven!

Yes and it has the story of a Lesbian woman who wrote poems called Sappho.

I hope you take lots of photos on your vacation to the Island.....

I'll take good care of Shrink-you while you are gone as he will miss you very much.....take pics and enjoy yourself!!!

Sure, it is a Greek island. It is lovely, with nice picturesque settlements and good sea. Nothing to do with "lesbians", apart from the fact that Sappho was from there, an ancient greek poet who had a school for girls and dared challenge a man-ruled society by educating women and expressing her love for her students. Hence she was accused of having sexual relations with her students, something that is not at all certain. In fact, her students went off to marry after they finished her school. And the love she expressed in her poets can be the equivalent of Platonic love, which is the mental love between teacher and student.

yes ... but apparently the greeks have spelling problems

the original home of women warriors.....

its in the sea of seamen off the peninsula of hardycock and to the south of licketeysplitsville then back north to cumoniwannabangya

Not that i know off? why the question?
