Local information about geneva?

i am going with my family to geneva for holidaying tell me about car rental services their prices for 8 people and local eats and current prices grocery

In Geneva the cost of living is expensive, all services in general are rather expensive, rent of cars, restaurants...But do you have to move in car obligatorily? otherwise you could use the common transports. To your hotel you can obtain a "Geneva Transport Card" that it allows you to move gratis in all the zone.
Bon voyage!

it is expensive when I went there 4 years ago!

You don't need a car to get around Geneva and environs - the local transport is very convenient and relatively inexpensive. If you want to travel further afield in Switzerland, trains are a very good (and reliable option). www.sbb.ch (Swiss rail network website).

For a family of eight you would need at least two cars which would get very pricey (and cars are generally smaller here in Europe). One tip if you really want to rent is to rent a car on the french side of the Geneva airport.

Geneva (as is all of Switzerland) is fairly expensive compared to North America (and many places in Europe). However, you can easily do self-catering with the many local grocery stores/bakeries (local chains include migros - www.migros.ch and co-op - www.coop.ch). One thing to keep in mind is that, with very few exceptions, all stores are closed Sundays!

all the above are right.

raise and born there. live in L.A.

Be there in a couple months.

all the above answers are correct, it is expensive. you should make it a point to travel to the french part of the lake; Thollon-les-Bains & Evian-les-Bains. i'm sure that you will visiting the lake and snapping pix of the fountain too. make it a point (if you rent a vehicle) to travel the lakeshore towards Lausanne too. there are many towns and villiages to see that way too.
if you want to go scuba diving, contact Michel @ Swissub in Geneva or Lausanne (better facility) for a Discover Dive. Lausanne has the nightclubs and a better nightlife than Geneva. Watch for concerts or hockey games in those areas.
also, this is the time of year when you will see the parapont (?) and handgliders take off from the mountain on the frech side.
