How long does it take to drive from Washington, DC to Houston, TX? Oh hun a long time! I drove from Lafayette, LA to VA about three years ago and it took about 17 hours nonstop. Add a few hours to that and I think you would have tghe answer. if you decide to do it, try not to do it alone. Go to map quest it will tell you. About 21 hours and 34 minutes Well, it takes me about 22 hours to drive from Houston to Pittsburgh, PA. So, it'll probably take you about 20 hrs, give or take. The route I'd recommend (as I've been every way you can possibly imagine many times) is going 81W into Virginia and Tennessee, and then down thru Chatanooga to Alabama (via 59S). 59S isn't a heavily traveled road, so you won't have major traffic issues except for around cities. It'll take you all the way to 12W in Lousiana. Take 12W to 10W and you're right into Houston. That's by far the best route from my experience. |
