How hard would it be to get from Germany (Munich) to Italy (Florence)? Help me out! thanks?

I don't want to fly and I'm looking for a cheap way to get there.

Is hitchhiking feasible? Safe?

Would a train there be cheap?

Thanks ahead of time. I really appreciate any help.
-Andonis

From Munich to Florence by train it'll take 8 or 9 hours, standard 2nd class is 80 to 90 鈧?(up to 120 for 1st class).
There are three trains every day, two are direct.

the best is to take a flight from Munich to Milan (www.airberlin.com and then the Train from Milan to Florence ( www.trenitalia.com).
If you book well in advance this might be the cheapest option. I do not recomment hichhiking.
