Do middle eastern people eat in courses?

if you have any other information about middle eastern food traditions that'd be great!!

do they really eat on the floor? in what parts of the middle east do they eat in courses?

It depends entirely on where you are.

In genral, the first course will be a bowl of soup or some vegtables, followed by the main course which can consist of a single dish to several dishes (often set in the middle of the table, allowing everyone to help themselves). After this, assorted fruits or a dessert will be served, often with tea and coffee.

Poorer people sometimes eat on the floor (the food is placed on platters which are placed on a blanket. In these cases, the food usualy consists of various dips (such a hummus), eaten by taking peices of pita bread which are used to scoop up whatever food one wants. Most Muslims eat only with their right hands.

It is traditional to serve food and drinks by age, serving the eldest first and the children last. Guests are encouraged to eat a lot of food (there is an Arabic saying which goes "Eat as much as you love us", meaning that the guests must eat a lot of food to honor their host). Arabs will also serve food in massive portions- it is considered greatly dishonorable for a host to run out of food.

Due to Arab hospitality, one can simply drop in for a meal, or knock on a neighbor's door in the middle of the night and ask to borrow some bread.

I'm middle eastern myself and as far as i know we do eat in courses.

Well it really depends on which part of middle easy you are in.

Usually they sit on the floor to eat and eat with their hands.

Traditionally they put platters of food on the table and eat off of them. Each person having their own plate is something fairly recent.

Well , i am middle eastern !!!
Middle eastern people eat their main meal at lunch , and usualy don't eat dinner.
There are some traditional meals that have a special way of eating them like Mansaf which you may find in Jordan , you can eat it with a fork or spoon but traditionaly you have to eat it with your hand. It is basically made of rice, meat , a kind of yougurt and nuts

sometimes for beakfast , middle easterns make small portions of different variaties of food , ( jam , labneh , olives , cheese, eggs) and you are supposed to eat them using lebanese bread.

in weddings, ramadan , and special occasion we make a special kind of coffee , some people may know it as bitter coffee or plain coffee.

Not all of middle easterns eat on the floor , i pursonally eat on tables and chairs ! But some of them do !

P.S : WE DRINK A LOT OF TEA
