Visiting Zimbabwe? |
I want to visit Zimbabwe and work on a Lion Preserve for a month. How safe is Zimbabwe? I know a lot has been happening in the news, does it involve this country? Will I b safe? The situation in Zimbabwe is volatile. Currently, the British government (for example) doesn't advise againt citizens travelling there but there are lots of warnings to be heeded: I fully agree with ttomnl. Friends of mine went last year and they said there were a number of foreigners in the more touristy areas, such as Victoria Falls. In other areas it is generally safe, just have to line up for certain items. They took their small children as well and didn't feel unsafe at any time. They drove to various areas in a rented car. I would encourage you to go. I can't see much happening around a lion preserve. There's no totally safe place anywhere in the world. The locals are great resources so ask them if you're ever unsure about a situation or what to do. Im in zimbabwe.....if you are visiting a tourist area you will be fine .The media tends to dramatise the situation .Some of their footage which is supposed to show what is happening in the whole country represents the equivalent of an area like Harlem .......Enjoy your trip It is quite safe, but the economic situation is horrible. |
