I have heard that my choices would be Puerto Plata, Cabarete or Sosua. I am leaning towards Puerto Plata because of the nice resorts and larger city. What are some of the best resorts?

For you I suggest to go to the resort area of Playa Dorada ( 10 min from Puerto Plata) with her 15 hotels/resorts, plenty of choice!. I recommend the Blue Bay Resort (adults only) or
Gran Ventana Beach Resort, depending your budget.
Enjoy your stay !

Puerto Plata, they have a lot of cheap hookers there and I'm sure thats what you're going for
