Do we need a visa to come to the D.R. or is there a fee we pay at customs when we enter?

We will be honeymooning there in May and staying in Puerto Plata. Any tips on fun things to do? We are both adventurous and don't usually do the things most tourists do. We want to experience more of the local flare.

At your arrival there麓s a desk in your right hand side that sell the tourist card or tourist visa for USD$10.00 per person. At your departure you have to a tax US$20.00 most airlines including it in the ticket prices. (that you have to ask them) I know American Airlines covers it.

About things to do in puerto plata they are many. Since you are going for honey moon i recommend to visit Punta Rusia Beach. (nice for couple)
Also the neighboring area like Santiago, Constanza, Jarabacoa (for ecotourism, nature, valley of flowers in constanza and Jarabacoa)

Enjoy your trip and adventures!!

When you get to Dominican Republic in the same airport in custom area you will pay for a Visa, around $20 + or - per person, in dollars.
