Is Detroit heaven?

I want to move somewhere with the best weather, job market, and economy in America. Not to mention low traffic, an excellent cost of living, and low crime. I think I can find all of these in Detroit, Michigan. It's got the best reputation of any city in America.

that is the funniest thing I think I have ever read! I lived outside of Detroit for the first 18 yrs of my life and I found it to be far from heaven. My favorite place that I have lived thus far is Pawley's Island, SC.. much closer to perfect than Detroit!

The best reputation for what??? Drug-dealing and homicides? Please look at other places to consider for your relocation.

This is obnoxious. I'm sick of people writing this pointless ****. With the exception of the snow which is mostly an annoyance, the weather here is great. No hurricanes, tornadoes (some in the suburbs but not the city), or earthquakes. We also get to experience the beauty of four beautiful, distinct seasons. The job market and the economy are in a rough patch, much like most of the country. The traffic is not bad at all compared to other major cities like LA and NYC. Normal rush hour type stuff- like all other cities. The crime in some parts of the city is bad, but if you use common sense you're not going to be shot, robbed or raped, contrary to popular belief. This is the same as any other major city. Don't run around alone in the middle of the night with a hundred dollar bill hanging out of your pocket and you'll be fine. Detroit has some beautiful houses which are extremely affordable and lots of art, diversity and culture all around. Great music venues, sports teams and bars and restaurants too. So if you're being serious, which I'm pretty sure you're not, I will say YES, Detroit can be your own personal heaven if you make it. Anywhere can be. And if you're being sarcastic I'm going to tell you to bug off- quit wasting your time and ours with these dumb "questions" mocking a city that you probably know nothing about and one in which you're definitely not doing anything to help.

This is getting OLD. I'm from Chicago and I can say Detroit is NOT bad. It has a nice downtown and good surrounding metro. The economy will improve. Sooooooo yeah have fun.

Where did you hear these awful lies. What you are saying about Detroit is NOT True. Detroit has good weather in the summer but harsh weather in the winter. The job market is horrible and there are NO JOBS anywhere and Detroit has the worst economy anywhere. The crime rate is horrible and Detroit was recently ranked as the Most Dangerous City in America. If you move to Detroit, you will be sorry, broke, and unemployed.

HAHAHA no way. sorry to ruin it but detroit is not good for any of those, is one of the worest places for traffic in the united states, cost of living is expensivie, high crime and you must seriously be kidding right?
