Is Detroit, Michigan as bad as it sounds?

I want to drive there from Niagara Falls this weekend but I have been advised not to for various reasons...

Where are some good places to shop in Detroit if I do go?

it's not as bad as it sounds, it's worse! only things worth doing there are hockey town and the casino. if your there go across the border to windsor. much safer and more fun.

Depends where you go and what you do. Don't go walking around alone at night flashing a bunch of money in a bad area.

With a little common sense you will be just fine.

A good place to shop in Detroit is Greektown. This part of Detroit has restaurants, shops, and a casino. I have some information in the source section about Greektown if you decide to go there.

No i really don't think its bad at all!!!

There are plenty of places to shop at.

There is:
-Great Lakes mall
-Lakeside
-The village of Rochester Hills
-Somerset (my favorite!)

and i really love Birmingham, its about 20 minutes from the downtown Detroit area.

There's also Royal Oak which is near Detroit.

I consider all of those places to be apart of Detroit.

Detroit is a really beautiful city, theres bad parts of it that every city has.

People can be stupid but there isnt anything the majority of us can do about it.

So why should we citizens be blamed for something some gangsters do in downtown detroit?

almost all of the crimes in the city of Detroit are involved with people that know eachother, and drugs.

Stay smart and dont walk down closed dark alleys.
But that goes for any major city!!
