Does anyone live in Detroit??

I'm going out to visit a friend who just moved there and want to know where all of the fun areas are for guys in their mid-20's.

Bars, sporting events etc... would be great.

I live in Detroit, and there is plenty to do. Obviously Pistons and Red Wings games are a good time. Greektown, Motor City, and MGM Casinos are pretty nice if you have a little $$ to burn. Greektown has amazing food, so you should check that out while you're in town. Theres also a Hard Rock Cafe, and a bunch of cool bars downtown. Here's a few of the best-

*Old shillelagh.... its the best Irish pub around

*Hockeytown Cafe - Red Wing based bar across from
Comerica Park

*Cheli's Chilli - Chris Chelios' bar also near Comerica Park

*Town Pump

*Bazouki Lounge (strip club near Greektown)

And there's a bunch more bars downtown if you just drive around and look. Outside of downtown, Royal Oak - a northern suburb has a really nice downtown area with a bunch of bars and restaurants. Also, right now the North American International Auto Show is going on right now downtown at Cobo Hall. Its a worldwide event and well worth checking out. Theres alot to do in this area no matter where you go, so have fun in the D!!

The Greektown area is always fun. For sporting events, Wings and Pistons games are always fun. But, if you are willing to drive a little ways and want to have more of a smaller crowd, Plymouth Whaler hockey games are fun as well.

Yup! Indian Village rep, lol. Definitely go downtown. It's starting to really clean up nicely and look like a real city. You def. gotta go to the Hockeytown Cafe and if you can, get tickets to a Pistons game.

You should definitely go to the Detroit Auto Show at Cobo Hall...people come from all over the U.S. to go to that one.

Do not forget Mexicantown, located in Southwest Detroit, it is great!!!

I don't think too many people live there any more. If you go on Google maps and look at a satellite view of Detroit you'll see blocks and blocks of nothingness. Some blocks have 1 or 2 houses left, but alot are completely empty.

Detroit is a dump I've been there since 1960 then it was OK but not any more. Do your self some good stay away trust me.

For a couple of guys in their 20s you need to go to Windsor. You will see sights there that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Windsor, bring your passport or birth certificate plus driver's license.

I am hesitant to fully explain why you should go to Windsor, but trust me, you should.
