What is a good area for a family to move to in Denver?

I am also looking at affordabilty since I am a single mom with 5 kids. We are relocating from San Antonio, Tx.

We live in Castle Rock ,A great family friendly town. Great schools , churches, housing ,etc. We're about 40 min south of downtown Denver. http://www.townofcastlerock.org

I have family in Longmont and they seem to really like it there with schools, low crime, and family friendly place to live. It's north of Denver.

Denver doesn't really have a BAD area, mostly there are bad blocks. You could be on a wonderful block here, turn the corner and be on a bad block. Even the bad blocks here aren't like the bad areas of most cities though. Sorry I couldn't help more.

In the city of Denver look at homes in neighborhoods like Washington Park, South park Hill or Neighborhoods in the south end. Stay away from most neighborhoods in the east/north east of the city as well as on the west side along Federal Blvd. in Denver. Downtown in very nice also but its not for raising a family and its pricy. Riverfront park would be a great choice in raising a family plus integrading your children with the city life but again very expensive. In the burbs try some cities like Littleton, Arvada, Westminster, and Highlands Ranch. In all housing is higher then the national average but not California bad. Avg. home in the Denver metro will sell for about $350,000 for a good home and neighborhood with the South parts being much more expensive as well as parts of the far west and north.
