My bf is a danish citizen and invite me as a tourist visa in denmark,. can I get married in denmark?

Different rules apply all depending on where you come from. Denmark also has age regulations on marriages. If you are foreigner under 24 years of age, it can be very complicated.

Your embassy or consulate in Denmark should be able to answer the questions for you. Or your boyfriend needs to go to his "kommune" and ask there.

You need to get marriage visa if you want to get married in Denmark, not tourist visa.

It depends on your citizenship. Check the regulations on the website of the Danish Embassy/Consulate in your country.

Accordingly to the newspapers I have read, the answer is no. The Danes have to go to Sweden, if they want to get married and be living together with some one who hasn鈥檛 a EU passport. I think Norway as well as Finland will do too.

yes you can

Does he know yet?

I麓m sure there is some "papers" that have to be filled in, before you can get married. Much depends on your native country. I麓m sure your boyfriend and his relatives can help you with the "paper work".

Sorry, just a joke, does HE KNOW???

GOOD LUCK TO YOU WITH EVERYTHING!

im american and no u dont have to go to sweden. you can get married in denmark. as an american i did not need an invite and u can stay on a tourist visa for 3 months. after that you must go home (or stay illegally), if u stay though u cant work. to work you have to have a residence permit which can take a while...and even when u are married they can still make u go home if you don't meet all the requirments. my advice is do it all legal. to get a marriage and residence permit can take up to a year and you cant work during that time...i know, stupid. they are very tough here.

Yes you need to get a mariage visa. Contact the danish embassy, they will be able to help you

Sure ... you can perform the marraige ceremony in Denmark on a tourist visa. There's no rule stopping you from where you get married. However, if your question is directed at knowing if that then qualifies you stay in Denmark the answer is no.

Simply getting married in Denmark does not give you an automatic "stay in the country as long as you want" card. In fact, if you want to stay in Denmark after getting married you will have to return to your country of origin and apply for a perminent residence visa at your nearest Danish Embassy.

I've known a couple people whom have done this, and all in all it took them anywhere from 10 months to a year and a half to receive their permanent resident visa. My mother is Danish, and I was living in Denmark on a student visa and even for me to file for a "reunification" permanent resident visa took six months.

This is my experience...
I'm an American (it's different depending on where you are from), flew to Denmark on my passport and my Danish boyfriend and I got married in Denmark within the 3 month time frame allowed for my travel. As soon as we were married we applied for residency. They immediately granted a right to stay while waiting for the decision. I wasn't allowed to work or go to school but I definitely was not required to return to my country. They did hold my passport though, and did not allow me to travel outside Denmark. I had all the paperwork in perfect order and it still was an 8 month wait. That was 2 yrs ago so can't say how it is today. There are a lot of restrictions, you must 24 yrs of age, have around $10kUS bank guarantee, husband must have a domicile of a minimum size for a specific lease time (for us it was 3 yrs) and must be making a certain income, etc all depending on your situation and if you have kids, etc. You have to sign a contract that you will test fluent in Danish within 3 yrs, work with a job coach, many things and they are always changing so research!

Unfortunately, Siikiniemi is correct, but has not pointed out that it could happen that the Danish authorities might refuse a marriage or recognise a marriage and will not allowed them to be living together as a couple in Denmark, if both not are EU citizen. All Americans are not welcome in Denmark, except for US citizen and Canadians,
There are hundreds of desperate married couples, are living in Bunkeflodstrand nearby the bridge to Copenhagen and I meet them daily when I occasionally visit my son in Bunkeflodstrand in Sweden and have wee chats with them and they complain about their situation that the authorities don鈥檛 allow them to be living together in Denmark.

Denmark is a country full of rules that YOU HAVE to follow. Even if you enter Denmark legally as a tourist it might be risky to get marry without the proper info and awareness of it all. Don't think because you get married you will be protected so easy by your husband, better get informed before making a big mistake. Denmark is not like other countries (a little flexible) they will check your past life if it possible in order to know exactly what your means to be here are.
I am not Danish and it has been a though one for me even when my husband is a EU (in the Schengen area) Citizen.
Good luck and be careful.

Like what the others have said, it depends on where you come from. For most of the people, they just only need their passports and a single letter saying that you have divorced legally / never been married before, basically it is a statement that you can get married (not still under an existing marriage with someone else)

and then ask your boyfriend to contact the municipality where he lives and schedule for a marriage. That's the easiest way.

I don't know about marriage visa though, citizens of some countries (maybe like Russians or Chinese) probably need it but as far as I know none of my friends and I need it.

Tell your boyfriend to ask around and call his municipality office. It is obviously easier to find out about this for him than for you since he speaks Danish and he lives in DK.

good luck!

Denmark is a very expensive country to live in, so I would suggest holding this thought until you both get more information. As the others mentioned, the rules are tough. Your boyfriend needs to make a certain income to support you, or they won't grant you a reunification visa. Those rules are there for a reason, you don't want to live in poverty either. It is expensive to move to Denmark, and it is also expensive to move back to your birth country if things don't work out, so know what you are getting into!

If you are serious about this, you should also think about your career opportunities in the area where your boyfriend lives. Would there be a future for you? How well would you have to speak Danish to work in your field? It usually takes two incomes to live well in this country, so think twice.
