Help and Aussie girl out, what is the Lifestyle in Dallas like?

Help and Aussie girl out, what is the Lifestyle in Dallas like?

You will find there are many things here very similar to Australia.

We drive on the other side of the street and speak with a different accent, and don't have unusual terms for everything in the world.
Dallas is similar to all big cities, but is warmer and friendlier than most big places.
You will find that most people will enjoy your accent and you should do fine.

Can be exciting. It's somewhat metropolitan and lots of man-made lakes in the area (everything in Texas is man-made!) Lots of young people but outside the city not much of any nature or culture. Be prepared to drive a lot since everything's so spread out. Not sure how in compares to Australia. You may not be too shocked Aussie.
Good Luck!

If you're making the marathon flight from Australia to America... bypass Dallas. It's a dull city and there's really not much to be gained by visiting it. No, I don't live there, but I've been 100 times and there are much better places in this country. I saw you requested info on a bunch of rather questionable place in America... and hey, if you're into the "off the beaten path" thing, then more power to you. I would actually advocate that in opposition to LA, San Francisco, New York, etc... but if you want to concentrate on that part of the country, I think you're setting yourself up for an expensive and disappointing trip. You could the the "Old West" like Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico for better scenery and, in my opinion, more personality, the Deep South, the Northeast... but the region you're choosing is really nothing special but unending horizons and boring cities. And Texans aren't the best people to ask about their home state either... you'll get a rather biased view. If you have a burning desire to see Dallas, make it a day stop.

its off the chain!! go six flags!!

dallas is a cool place rich in history with tons to do. its a hot party town but on a slower pace than say new york or L.A. the people are friendly. the food is great. chefs from all over the world have planted signature restaurants here. and the shopping is great too.

if u decide to come to dallas come back to y!a and ask for places to go.

i've traveled all over the world and dallas is still at the top of the list of places i would want to live and party.

Dallas is exciting!

There is quite a lot to do there! The people are rich in culture and the area is huge.

But nothing campared to Sydney. @@ I went to Australia over the summer.

I do hope you get to visit some day!
