Where are some good hangouts in downtown Cleveland?

I have never been and want to know of some cool bars and hangouts for this weekend.

There are many different types of bars and it depends on your scene.

The Warehouse District is where most of the bars, restaurants and nightlife venues are located. Just head west of Public Square along W.6th, St. Clair and W.9th and you'll see bar after bar. It is a very walkable district. There are some dives and sports bars, but it is a little upscale for the most part. My favorite bar is called the Little Bar and I think it epitomizes the "Cleveland" bar. (You'll find it tucked away on a narrow one-way called Frankfort Ave. just south of Superior between W.6th and W.9th.) The Map Room is part dive and part crowded singles bar. It also has the cheapest drinks in the Warehouse District. A step up from the Map Room is called the Blind Pig Speakeasy on W.6th. Mercury Lounge on W.6th is one of the most trendy bars, but it is a little edgy and rocker compared to the multi-level dance clubs like Velvet Dog and Bar Flyy that spin pop and hip hop.

Just east of Public Square along E.4th and Prospect is the Gateway District. There are a variety of entertainment venues in this up-and-coming district. The House of Blues, Pickwick and Frolic (comedy club), Corner Alley (upscale bowling), Wonder Bar (Jazz), Flannery's (Irish Pub), and Lola's (the cutting edge restaurant and bar by Iron Chef Michael Symon).

Depends on what you are into...if you are the clubbing kind of guy, you can check out W.6th (tons of bars, clubs, etc.) If you are more of a laid-back beer guy, Little Bar (614 Frankfort Ave, Cleveland OH 44113) is pretty fun and has an awesome selection of beer. If you are wine kind of guy, check out D'Vine, which I think is on W. 6th or 9th.

There is also a great bowling alley in the E.4th area, Corner Alley. It's not too far from the Q (which is unfortunately or fortunately hosting a hot rod monster jam).

Good luck!

Just look for a corner with several women scantily dressed and very friendly to guys driving past......
Hey...it IS Chicago after all........

The "Harry Buffalo" bar across from The Quicken Loans Area. Great food, great beer, and great atmosphere.

Why, why, why. Let's see the Greyhound bus stop, a pint of cheap liquor, some fried chicken, and the first bus south. Best place to go in Cleveland.

If you can afford it the airport.
