What should my family and i visit in shanghai?

my family is boring and i don't know where to take them
5guys, 1 baby girl and my mom and dad
5,9,12,16,19 and 3yr old

check out the link below, they are all geared for kids visiting Shanghai, here are some fast suggestions

The Lu Jia Zui area, has the Pearl tower, the Aquarium, the Super Brand Mall (it has a HUGE arcade), Yu Yan Market, Johnny Moo's Burger joint...

I've been to Shanghai a few times, my favorite place to go to is "People's Square". It's in downtown Shanghai and it's great for shopping. There is a great toy store so the kids can do some shopping as well. Watch out for the natives....they'll practicly attack you trying to sell their watches and bags :). Also you have to go to the ''Bund", it's world famous (not sure why).......it's just a cool looking building. A quick suggestion: Don't buy from the streets unless you can speak good Chinese (to bargain).......chances are they'll rip you off. The best food is served at the little street resturants......don't waste your money on fancy resturants :) Have fun!!

Explore man! Just explore!!!

Touristy places: Pearl Tower, Yu Garden, Bund, People's Square, Art Museum, electronics district

Shanghai isn't really that great of a tourist destination. Beijing has all the historical landmarks. Hong Kong has more to do. Western China has the scenery.

Maybe you could arrange a daytrip to one of the nearby river towns. Shanghai is a great place for shopping and eating. It's the kind of town you could see Anthony Bourdain enjoying. Lots of culture to soak up and a welcoming population. Due to the history of outside influence in Shanghai, the people aren't quite as xenophobic as you'll find in other parts of China. It is very easy to strike up a conversation. But there aren't many touristy things to do.

Go to places and see things that you CANNOT see in America. Everyone loves to shop because of the good bargains and what not, and if you want to do that, then that's cool. I'd hop on a train, either at the Shanghai Station or Shanghai South Station (both can be reached by the metro) and go to Jiashan, which is 1 hour away by train. It is an old town, as well as the spot where the last scenes of Mission Impossible 3 were filmed. It's actually called Xitang, but you take the train to Jiashan and hop on a taxi ride for 10 minutes to Xitang. Well worth the trip. And go explore Shanghai. If you want to have some real "fun" go to the Underground Tourist Tunnel and visit the Sex Museum. Fun stuff. It is right by Lu Jia Zui. =) Explore to the fullest. You'll love Shanghai.
