Why do americans look so angry when they walk around the streets and malls in China?

because the mutts see a pure society

Americans look so angry because once in China, they realise three things:
1) Everything there is made in China
2) China is full of Chinese!
3) Not everyone in this world speaks English.
All of these are puzzling your average American tourist, so they look angry and confused.Don't worry, they feel better as soon as they hit the nearest McDonalds/Starbucks.

I couldn't say - I've never been to China and if I did I hope I would be happy to be visiting! I would love to see the sights.

I do not think that they are angry. Being laowai in China brings a lot of attention and stares, so the natural reaction is to avoid eye contact and keep to yourself. The Chinese people are very kind and friendly. They are also very curious. An open and friendly appearance by a laowai invites a lot of people to say "Hello," and to practise their English. While this is nice for a while, it becomes a little bit tiresome when you are just trying to go about your business.

So perhaps they are not angry and just trying to cope with all the kindness, curiosity and attention.

Cheers, Someg

They are probably upset because they realise they wont have the world most powerful economy in a few years.

Because they realize their own government has lied to them about china. It's safe and clean and the locals mind their own business rather than forcing their opinions on everyone they come in contact with.

you are back, haha, can't stay away very long can you? It could be b/c of having to deal with the terrible traffic, the terrible pollution, the dirt, the poor quality of lots of things, the constant staring, gawking and pointing, maybe

You just don't give up, do you? Still trying to create confrontation between American and Chinese?

Welcome back! It's been a long time. We missed you...Where you on holidays with BKK? We haven't seen him for a while too...I was worried the commies got you...

Hey Dr Phil, Han is Chinese and you should have worried the FBI/CIA had got him!!!!!

(Or at least, Han is trying to make believe that he is asking questions here on behalf of Chinese!)

Why are you posting the same thing all over the internet? I saw you posting things on YouTube as well.

Well, iam an American guy, and i have been living here in China for over a year now. I have only seen a few other Americans here, and they did not look angry, at all, and i know that i don't either, iam very friendly, i say Hello to eveyone who talks to me, and i say hello to some, in Chinese. The Chinese people are very nice and frienly to foreigners; however, some of the older people are not as friendly as the others. I know a lot of foreign people here, and some do get tired of all the attention we get, i honestly like it, it like being a famous person in America, i get straed at every day, people passing, will stop and watch you walk by, and tap their friends on the shoulder and point at you. It does take some getting use to, but they do not see many foreigners here, so it is new to them.
