Is the cost of living high in Hong Kong? |
Could you save money on 60 000 Hong Kong currency a year? Yes, it is high. However, it isn' as high as people tend to believe. The highest is housing. .if you,re earning 20k a month.the answer is YES ! Yes it's high, but the answerer above me is right; it's not as high as many people believe. My aunt and here, uhm, boyfriend rents an apartment in Lantau Island, in the New Territories, and their rent is only HK$850/month (about US$105)... not bad! And the apartment is not very big, not very small--just appropriately sized. HK$60,000 a year, or HK$5,000 a month will be really hard to survive on. You room (not flat, room!) will be at least 2-3000. If you go to remote place you can add HK$1000 for transport. |
