How long does it take to ride the Red Line from Howard to Grand in Chicago?

Trying to plan transit for a weekend trip for a group of 15 people. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

About 40 mins is right. There is usually construction on the red line on weekends.

Also, recently the Red line has not been stopping at Grand or any nearby stops going Northbound. Check that out on cta website or call 1-800-yourcta. They've been running the Northbound trains on elevated tracks from Roosevelt to Fullerton every weekend, so you might need to take a southbound train to Lake and switch to the Northbound there, or a bus North to Fullerton from Grand.

That is from last weekends reroute.

EDIT- the reroute has not affected the southbound trains so it would only be the return trip that you'd need to deal with switching trains, etc. Going to Grand should be fine.

If there's no Cubs game or construction delays on the line, about 35-40 minutes. There's a lot of stops, especially at the north end.
