Most dangerous parts of chicago?

like out of the whole city wat streets and stuff

Check this out for crime information in Chicago...

http://chicago.everyblock.com/crime/loca...

Click on the links though, don't just compare the numbers.....because in some areas there are more serious crimes such as murders, but in others much of the crime are things like burglary & theft (and that's common in shopping areas...not just necessarily from people's homes).

hope that helps! :)

the farther away from downtown is pretty dangerous, but when we were there last year had no problems being on the street at 3am. its pretty quiet.

Just returned from Chicago, great town. Downtown was very safe and pleasant. Freakin cold, though!

The Humboldt Park neighborhood is pretty dangerous sometimes. I live very near to it, like on the borderline. I've heard gunshots multiple times. And once I looked out the window and saw some chick running in the street and the cops chased her down with their weapons drawn yelling at her. It was pretty sweet.
And also, across the street where I live, there's this store window with a metal frame, and lodged between the glass and this window frame is a bullet. It bent the metal and everything and it's pretty much stuck in there.
And there was this other time when I was running in the park for excirsise, I could swear that I saw a man injecting drugs into another man's arm under a bridge. I think they were the same ones that I frequently saw sleeping under there.
I also heard that the neighborhood had the largest murder rate density (or something like that) in the country for last year.
But I think it's pretty safe if you aren't in a gang or getting mixed up with the gangbangers. They just shoot at eachother. Also, I don't go out walking at night.

In dark allys

The west side of Chicago is the worst overall side of the city from just west of Damen all the way down to Oak Park. I'm talking the direct west side like Madison & Kedzie, not the far north/west or far south/west sides of the city...those neighborhoods are actually pretty safe and quiet.
Englewood on the south side is the worst overall neighborhood...specifically around the 63rd/Ashland green line stop to the 63rd stop on the red line.

Cabrini Green still really sucks, but due to it's really awesome location (it's 10 minutes north of downtown, and right next to Old Town and Lincoln Park, two of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city) it's sort of getting phased out with condos and yuppies, though I woulnd't go near the place day or night. People like to call the area "up & coming" which means maybe in ten years or so it will be nice.

the hood dammit LOL!

South Side is the worst. The Blackstone Rangers still "own" the South Side. Up and coming is west around Garfield Park area
