Would you rather live in Chicago or New York City?

& why?

NEW YORK !

NEW YORK...
everything is in NY!!

Although I've never visited USA I'd go with New York City. Multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, the most important and interesting place of the US, I think.

Chicago has a very nice downtown district, however, New York is New York.

Things happen in New York. It's a city on such a level that only two or three other cities in the world can compare to. it's beiiger, denser, richer and more powerful than most if not all cities on the planet. Who can deny that?

I'd enjoy living in Chicago more. You see, New York is too chaotic for my tastes, even if it has good restaurants, places to go, etc. What I like about Chicago is, 1) the architecture of the buildings, 2) the cultural atmosphere (concerts, open areas, etc.) and 3) The people are just nicer in Chicago than in New York.

Chicago for sure. I've never been to New York but I have been to Chicago and it is just amazing. With the rivers running throughout the city and the amazing buildings everywhere, not to mention the Majesty of Millennium Park. It's especially great if you are in Chicago during the Taste festival because you can sample any one of the amazing foods that Chicago has to offer. The Sears tower is also breathtaking.

New York - much better public transportation as well as much better everything else in my opinion. Lived there for 5 years. Moved away for 1 year. Now moving back.
Chicago is a great town, too, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Chicago has always fascinated me. I've lived in the NYC area before so would like to try a new place.

I would choose New York City, ive been to Chicago a couple of times and there are a few things that its has that is better than New York such as nicer people, cheaper rents, more jobs, and its not as crowded as New York. But besides that I still prefer New York because Chicago's winter weather is just crazy, temps are commonly dropping to zero with wind chills in the -20s, snow almost on a daily basis, i really dont understand how a place with such harsh weather can have almost 3 million people living in it. Its weather is the main reason for me not living there, also outside the Downtown area, Chicago has some ghetto and scary neighborhoods. I wouldnt live in a city with harsh neighborhoods surrounding its downtown area. New York City's winters are cold but it cant be compared to those of Chicago, and also NYC doesnt get snow on a daily basis like Chicago does. Also NYC has a lot of nice neighborhoods with lots of culture and diffrent ethnic groups. Also NYC has real beaches not like those fake beaches Chicago has on lake Michigan. I would definitely choose NYC.

Wow this is a tough question! Two awesome cities! I think I'd go with Chicago, its a little more laid back than NYC. Man they both have pros and cons, I love NYC, so much to do, high energy, the place to be, but also loud at all times, never rests, can be snobby, really expensive! Chicago has that midwest sensibility. Is way more affordable than NYC, but the winters are a bit harsher. There really isn't much to say negative about either. Man that would be a really hard choice!

hands down NYC

I been to Chicago couple times, i did not really like it that much. The public transportation was terrible; i bet it still is. Public transportation in NYC is unmatchable. Also you can easily spot celebrities in NYC, while I don't think that's really possible in Chicago. O btw I saw one of the Olsen twin in NYC. I also like the the fast pace environment of NYC and the big money around it.

When I die & I end up wherever I am going . I see a sign welcoming me to Chicago or New York City. I will know I didn鈥檛 live a very good life & I ended up in HELL!!!
