If you had to choose a city to live in? Chicago or Detroit?

I've only been to Chicago once, it was very nice. Stayed a week. Lots of shopping, great food, a museum too. Awesomeness.
We drove though Detroit on the way to Windsor, stopped for gas. I remember specifically that the gas station was out of Diet Pepsi and only had caffeine free Diet Pepsi, which was obviously not an option. So Detroit therefore sucks. You're welcome.

Haven't been to either but from what I've seen on our television, Chicago sounds better than Detroit.
On the other hand, I have old friends (from 50 years ago) living close to Detroit so I could depend on them, I hope, to guide me through.

I prefer Chicago, but Detroit does have one thing going for it. The Chicago Cubs are not there. That alone almost gets my vote

Been to both cities, this is not a competition, Chicago hands down. Detroit is a city in decline, high unemployment, high crime, deteriorating corporate environment. Detroit is the #2 city in the U.S in terms of violent crime and currently has an unemployment rate of 8% vs. the national average of 4.5%.

Chicago on the other hand is one of my all time favorite cities, so vibrant, tons to do! Its not even close, definately chicago!
