Upper midwesterners, could this winter possibly get any worse?

we've only had like 85 inches of snow or something LOL. Madison broke its all time record for winter snowfall. and that was more than a week ago. and it keeps falling. how many inches of snow have you had in your city this year?

It's almost as if winter is trying to make up for the last 6 or 7 years of mild winters in one winter. Of course, I was around for the Blizzard of '79 in Chicago and the freeze of '86, not to mention the 22" New Year's snowfall in 1999, so I've had my adventures.

Notice how Al Gore isn't anywhere near these parts right now? People would probably beat the crap out of him.

Here in Michigan it's been pretty bad too... at one point it when from the ground being covered in inches of snow, to it being completely bare, then back to covered in snow in a course of about four days. It is all just really weird

Actually folks I'd like to thank you for taking on our snow - Minnesota has had hardly any snow this year - all went south. But if it's too bad in Madison - just go to Ella's Deli and get a Grilled PoundCake Turtle Sundae - Yum!

While I don't live anywhere near there (I am in Utah), I can honestly say we haven't had a winter as bad as this one in more than ten years. We had one in the early 90s that was like this--the snow in our front yard was up to my hips all winter long. The only reason we don't have that problem again this year is because we live in a different place, and our house not only faces south, but has a good, clear area for the sun to get in and melt stuff when it makes one of its irregular appearances.

We started out with January temperatures in November, so I knew we were in for a nasty one. Unfortuately, I was right.

On the bright side, the skiers are having a good time...

And I am going to the Middle East next month, where there's no snow...

85 inches of snow, and I thought we (Chicagoans) had it bad. Actually I don't mind it. I don't know why people complain to be honest. It's the midwest, in the winter it's going to snow and get COLD!!! It's not your first winter! Hahaha, don't like it, move to the West Coast lol. Just think, in 5-6 weeks we'll be in light jackets and maybe even shorts! Weird, and just how I like it! I couldn't live anywhere that didn't get snow in December (which makes everything festive for the holidays).

I live in Northeast Wisconsin and Green Bay is about to break the record for all time snow fall. We're only a few inches away.

Not sure of the average snow fall that Chicago has had so far, but let me just vent a little and say that I am really sick of this deep freeze that we are having. I don't remember it being so bad. It seems that once we finally reach a high of 40-50 degrees and start to warm up, the next day it is -6 degrees with 2-4inches of snow on the ground. How long until Spring??????

in northern illinois we've had almost 100 in this year and last year we only had 13 inches
