I'm 14 yrs old i would like to become a teen actress i live on the southside of chicago, IL??

So I would like you to give some advice about becoming a teen actress.

One of the best places for you to go and train is on the South Side! eta Creative Arts Foundation is a cultural arts and training institution that has drama and dance classes for teens and adults. The teen program is especially good and it is run by Runako Jahi. eta is on 75th and South Chicago and has been there for more than 30 years.

Some of the alums from eta include Kel Mitchell (from Kenan and Kel), Simbi Khali (3rd Rock from the Sun) and T'Keyah "Crystal" Keymah (That's So Raven), among others. Jennifer Hudson also trained there before her audition for Dreamgirls.

You would really, really enjoy being part of eta and it will prepare you well to become an actress.

wat do u look like???

act in school plays.

join drama club

i was an actress and still wanna be
listen when you go on go sees do exactly what they want you to and dont be afraid either, and when they give you harsh comments DONT TAKE IT TO HEART yeah it hurts but trust me , learn from it and youll do better the next time and oh get a s.a.g card it gets you better go sees ( fyi ..go sees are interviews)

Your best bet would be to get involved in your school's drama/theater program, and if possible in local community theaters. Some youth organizations also have acting clubs. You should also look into private acting lessons if you're really serious.

Go to your local library and look for books with dramatic monologues; practice memorizing them and reciting them to a mirror.

And then be prepared for rejection. There are very few roles available, and a lot of young actresses (some of whom have been acting since childhood) competing for the same roles. You'll need to be good, lucky, and persistent.

Start acting in local plays for high school, community groups, etc. Start reading magazines and websites like Performink (http://www.performink.com/), which is a publication for local actors that also lists information about audition calls. And don't be afraid of rejection. Just becaue you don't get one part doesn't mean they won't call you when something else more suited comes up. And practice, practice, practice. Buy copies of plays from a book store to take them out from the library and rehearse them. Listen to yourself on a tape. There may even be free acting classes at your local park district. but get your face out there. You never know...

my advice 2 u is b as professional asposible and attend in school plays
