I'm going to Buenos Aires for the 1st time for Memorial Day...want to know where is the best Gay area to stay?

Try the Puerto Madero Area, in particular the Faena Hotel and Universe. It's a Phillipe Stark hotel and out does any of the Ian Schrager places in NYC. It's truly a cool place, at least go have a drink in their bar- its well worth it.

The other hotels you might like are the Four Seasons and the Avelar hotels.

The Palermo SoHo and Hollywood neighborhoods have some nice boutique hotels and good restaurants etc.

Try Lopez Taibo stores for excellent leather goods, shoes and jackets. They are locally owned and very trusted high end leather shops.

The Buenos Aires Design Center is also a nice place to visit and is located in the Recoletta area.

For Discos- try Soap, especially on Wednesday nights.

Enjoy, Mi Buenos Aires Quierdo!

Find a hotel around Santa Fe Ave (between Scalabrini Ortiz and Pueyrredon Street), or in Recoleta.
Recoleta is one of the most expensives neigborhoods in buenos Aires but it麓s worth it (of course I don麓t know about your budget).
You might want this question to be answered by someone gay, they麓ll provide more accurate info and some tips.

Here are some great links for you...
There are places to stay, things to do and people to see! As long as you are near the microcentro, it doesn't matter too much.

I like to stay close to Puerto mader. The Hilton at Puerto Madero is my favorite. Buenos Aires doesn't have agay area like West Hollywood in LA or Chelsea in NY. Night lifr is great. Clubs start late, very late around 11:30 or midnight and stay open till dawn. Go to Glam a nice bar to warm things up a bit and then go to Club America to dance and get lost in the dungeon maze...Have Fun!
