How many vineyards are there in argentina and what is the best wine out there? I don麓t know exactly how many vineyards are here in Argentina, but there are really good wines speacially in the Cuyo region ( the States of Mendoza specially and San Juan) there are 1386...just a guess We really like the Malbec from the Vineyard- Marcus. A majority of what are considered the top vineyards in Argentina unfortunately do not produce enough grapes to be exported out of Argentina so you will have a hard time finding these in the states. I had a Crios Cabernet a few weeks ago. My friend loved it, but I'm not quite as enthusiastic as he was. It was really dry like the Montes Alpha but not as rich. more vineyards than you would ever need. regardless, the malbec is argentinas best wine. i suggest norton malbec!! I tried great Malbec and Torrentes in Cafayate, near Salta in the north. I've tasted Lo Tengo Malbec. It turns out quite good. It takes knowing the country you're in to tell you who sells and deals in it, but look for the lenticular label showing a couple dancing tango on cobblestone. The following link leads you to a connoisseur's commentary. |
