For non-argentinian people, what do you think of when somebody talks about argentina? |
i'm from argentina and am curious about this. i know the typical answers can be maradona, tango, countryside....... First thought is Baby Blue and White from their flag and uniorms- then Maradonna, Evita, Gauchos, Malbec Wine, La Martina, Patagonia, Iguazu Falls and mostly the beautiful and 80's preppy Porteno's. Polo! hi big country somewhere down there I am an (american) spanish teacher so I am a little more familiar with the culture than your average american. I think of Eva and Juan Peron, of course, the tango, the paris of south america, italian and german immigrants at the turn of the century (I believe?) and also that incredible scandal of "la historia oficial" great movie! patagonia, great beef from the llanos. i also think of how much i want to go there!!! Hill's, Che Guevara and Mate I know about his great tennis players, about his beautiful landscapes, about the soccer of course and I know that the people sometimes thinks that is much better than the rest of persons in Latin America. A rich southamerican country. Argentina can recover from evrything because it has everything. I'm an American who has spent some time in Argentina. The Argentines are warm friendly inviting people. They are very passionate especially about football. Personally as a football nut, I think of Maradona and the Boca-River SuperClassico, but I know the country is more than that. I think the Argentines are people who like to enjoy life. Music, meat, dancing, Evita rich country with fools running it. arrogant people (those from BA), beautiful women, great scenery, cheap for tourists, crisis after crisis after crisis, in short, argentina is the country of the future, and always will be Hey, I'm out of the contest, here because I am from Argentina. I just wanted to say I am pleasantly surprised by the previous answers here. I find them more affectionate than I would have expected. As an Argentinian, I thank you all. |
