Argentina for women travelling by themselves?

I'd like to hear first-hand experience from women who have travelled alone in Argentina.... how safe did you feel? Is it different from other Latin American countries? When is a good time of year to find flight deals to Buenos Aires from Canada and can you recommend a cheap place to buy tickets? (What's the best deal you've found?)

Argentina. I've lived there for a year and just like every big city there are dangerous neighborhoods. But it was really nice and I felt pretty safe but it's always good to have some friends so that you are not alone.

The men there are really..."expressive" if you can say that. They really feel comfortable saying things like "how u doin sexy" and sometimes they even try to kiss...(it happened to me a lot) so that was kind of strange.

Buenos Aires is a very beautiful city. Lots of fun things to go, places to see. There are many free tours around the city.

If you are travelling alone, I would suggest you stay in a hostel. It's not AS nice but you will meet a lot of other people. I don't really have a website for you about the plane tickets, but you will not get any lower than 900 dollars. Expensive, especially if you are flying from canada.

The best months to go there are from december or the middle of november, until the end of march. It is the summer time there and its really nice. Humid ( I looove that) and there are a lot of rain storms and they are the best!!!

Umm last thing. The best and safest neighbohoods there : Palermo Viejo, Hollywood, Recoleta (gotta go to "Village recoleta Cines" movei theatre. its soo nice and cheap) Las Canitas, Puerto madero... Stay out of Boca at night and in the day time too; dangerous there. Good luck to you! I want to go back there to study!!!

email me if you have any more questions!

My family is Argentine. I would not recommend traveling there alone.
