Spending two days in Buenos Aires, area to stay in? Recoleta vs Cenro?

Heard about hotel Loi Suites in Recoleta and PanAmericano in Centro. Where would be a good place to stay. We'll be there on Saturday-Sunday - 2 days prior to cruise.
Thank you.

Does anyone know about the Sheraton in Buenos Aires, or the Panamericano, or Loi Suites Recoleta? how do they compare?

All else being equal, I would recomend for you to stay in Recoleta. There are many restaurants and cafes that you can walk to. Also, make sure you go to Puerto Maderos. It is beautiful and there are some great restaurants there as well. If Las Lilas is still there... give it a shot.

I would avoid the Centro, downtown is too busy at day time and solitary at night, also in weekends it is ugly.
Know nothing about loi suites though I saw in the web that the location is properly in recoleta neighborhood

Recoleta is a very nice place to stay in buenos aires. There you can eat argentinian specials like parrillada in al of its styles. There very good shopping and a nice cemetery of rich people from the past. At Recoleta cemetery is evita麓s tomb.

But, centro is the perfect place to get a hotel. Is near of all city important麓s places and easy way to get them.

My sugestion is stay at centro and go twice to recoleta.
You麓ll have a great time and more facilities.

Good Luck!

Definitely go to Loi Suites in Recoleta, avoid downtown.

I wouldn't recommend Sheraton either is near a train station. Forget about it.

I live in Buenos Aires.
Bye and have a great trip!

the truth is that Sheraton would be a wonderful place to be,
but don't worry about the location to stay in centro or recoleta because everything is so close together all it is, is a few minute drive you go in a taxi and it costs you a few dollars not more,
ENJOY!

I am argentina and if you will stay only two days in buenos aires i recomend recoleta, because there is many places to go out day and night, like restauranst and dancing bars, or you can know artist an his artwork at "Plaza Francia". The center of the city is like a financial center, too many people all day and a desert in weekends and at night. If you want, you can visit the "Plaza de Mayo" and all the historic centre going by bus or subway fron recoleta (15 minutes)

SORRY, I DON麓T SPEEK ENGLISH WELL.

If you don't mind the huzz and buzz, stay somewhere around LA Florida. This is the heart of Buenos Aires; so many erstaurants, theaters and shopping areas. At one time, I spent 10 days just around that area, lazying around.

I used to stay in Panamericano Crowne Plaza right on Recoleta but I didn't like it and it was too expensive for US150 a night corporate rate. ThenI stayed in a small hotel not far from it, quite decent called Hotel Dora. They were shooting an Argentinian soap opera when I was there the last time...
