To all bristol folk?

i'am moving down to bristol in a few months. i need to know what places to avoid , nightlife, job oppertunities, rented accomodation , nightlife , crime ect

thankyou

I can't say I'm in total agreement with the comments so far on this site, especially Brian D's racist slurs.

St Paul's is a lovely place, if you like somewhere that's lively & down to earth. It's not completely crime free but it's nowhere near as bad as most people think. Great place if you're a bit "alternative".

Where to go depends on what you're like. If you're a chav: Southmead, Hartcliffe, Knowle.

If you're a bit alternative and in your teens / twenties: Montpelier, St Paul's.

If you're a bit alternative and in your thirties / forties or above: Easton

If you're a bit smart & trendy: Redland, or the really quite posh Clifton. If you're really lucky, imho, you might get a place in Kngsdown. Note: on no accounts get "Redland" & "Kingsdown", which are really nice, confused with "Redfield" and "Kingswood", which are, well, not as nice.

I can't think of anywhere in Bristol that's really "no go". I can think of two underpasses which are quite dodgy, but that's it in the whole city.

Nightlife depends on what you like. The Waterfront area in the centre of town is full of bars that're full of drunk slappers & arseholes who wear far too little on a freezing cold night.

For other clubbing: there's a fair amount of psy trance around Bristol at the moment, plus the usual smattering of d&b and even the odd bit of techno. Lakota has a fair variety of stuff on, or the Blue Mountain Club, or the relatively new Clockwork. Bristol's full of posters for clubs, just keep an eye out.

If you like something a bit more extreme, eg really dark, hard d&b, breakcore, gabber - I thoroughly recommend the Black Swan in Easton.

Avoid places like Southmead and Knowle cos there are druggies and rough white hoodies.......

Bristol is a great place!. Crime rates vary in different areas, St Pauls, Knowle, Hartcliffe and Easton probably have the highest crime rates in Bristol but as said there isn't really a "No Go" area. All crime statistics for Bristol are available on Avon and Somerset Constabulary's website:http://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/

For accommodation there are some great places to rent, a good place to search for accommodation in Bristol is, This is Bristol,s property website. http://property.thisisbristol.co.uk/prop...

As for nightlife I agree with strappin_b's comments, there's lots to see and do, hope this helps!

Your questions have been answered already, so I'll just add my two pennuth:- Bristolians are fabulous people - our accent just takes a bit of understanding. You'll be OK if you remember to put an L on the end of everything ending in a vowel!
We are torn between ideas and ideals; we built the Britannul aeralplane, and we know that mosquitoes come from malariul areals.
Welcome to the best City in the UK. signed: Vronicul Aleesul

Avoid at all costs St Pauls, Hartcliffe and Knowle - full of drug dealers and people who will murder you as soon as look at you. Two Thirds of the crime carried out in the city is in the 3 areas alone.

Lots of rented accommodation can be found in Clifton (expensive area), Totterdown and Bedminster. These 3 areas are close to the City Centre which has plenty of jobs, nightlife, general recreation (cinema, ice skatting and museums) and shopping.

Are you mad? Lol !!

In my opinion (Which is pretty much the same as everyone elses) St Pauls,Easton,Southmead,Knowle,Hartcliffe... arent exactly the nicest of places....Horfield and Lockleaze is getting a little bad but but they've bulit alot of new homes there so theres a chance of renting there..I Recommend south gloucester..Places like Filton,Bradley stoke,Stoke Gifford,May as well be classed as bristol because you you've only got to walk down one road to get there lol

I cant really speak for the nightlife,Im not into clubbing..
But ifs its clubs your after then your find everything in the city centre,Different music and stuff..

But if your more a pub person then glouster road(im not sure how its spelt) is best,Plenty of pubs..I know loads of people that go pub crawling down there..

Theres The Mall in Cribbs Causeway which you could proberly get a job in and They're so building Cabot Circus at the moment which is a new shopping centre which i think will be finished by the end of the year,so plenty of job oppertunities there..

Bedminster & Southville are good for reasonable rented places, we have our own nightlife - nice bars, restaurants, theatre. The people are friendly and smile a lot. The accent takes some getting used to but it provides entertainment for the rest of us while you do. Lots of high quality employment agencies, some big name employers but just don't mention Cadbury's, and we have ferries on the river!

Try and avoid places like Knowle west cus there is lots of druggies there

Very high crime rates.

First figure is Bristol. Second is the National average

Sexual offences 1.8 0.9

See how your local authority鈥檚 crime rate measures against the national average.

Bristol is a fairly decent place but keep away from the area St Pauls, it is full of blacks who are like animals, they fill their day with with mugging, selling/taking drugs, raping, generally what they do everywhere they populate.
