I am planning on moving to Bristol. What are the main residential areas, their rentals and their character?

I'm a young professional who is looking for somewhere with a lively atmosphere but not "too" studenty - I've been there and done that! I've heard nice things about Clifton but don't know the city at all. Are any other areas being gentrified? Are the "nice" parts extortionate to rent in?

Bishopston and Montpelier, the area surrounding Gloucester Road is really lovely and lively, with lots of independent shops and cafes, restaurants, pubs, little music venues. Close to the centre, on a major bus route, and not as extortionate as Clifton/Redland etc. Those are really studenty anyway. Bristol's fab by the way - hope you think so too when you come! Also, ignore 'sophisticated liberal's' answer, which was simply a list of the most dodgy areas!

basically ryt ive lived in bristol all my lyf and here are a few great places to live in very upper class

Sea Mills
Shirehampton
Lawrence Weston
St Pauls
Hartcliffe
Lockleaze
Knowle West

all have an extremely good reputation not a coucil flat in site

av a nice tym in brizzle

The places where you will find that type of places within Bristol would probably be places on outer-centre. I would recommend

redland
kingsdown
clifton
And the centre itself

There are many other beautiful areas in Bristol, but the nearer centre is where a lively atmosphere is.

:

There is such a rich historical connection between Bristol England and the Bahamas. I would love to tell the whole world about it if only I knew how.
