Your thoughts on brisbane...?

What are some of the disadvantages about the city in your opinion. What are some ugly things that tourists dont see? And just wondering what is taringa like these days (use you to live there!)

I live in Brisbane and if you haven't lived here for a while you're sure to notice some changes. There are only two negatives at the moment: the escalating cost and shortage of rental properties and the water restrictions. Otherwise I personally love the city. Other negatives and ugly things are found in every other capital city in Australia. For example, homeless people, crime, traffic congestion.

Taringa hasn't changed much except for many new high-rise apartment blocks, increased traffic, and the ever-expanding Indooroopilly Shopping Centre close by.

wouldnt have a clue on Taringa but I live on the Sunny Coast so I think i can make an un bias judgement here.

while there are some great parts of Brisbane...you can basically all of it a day and a half without even trying. The public transport system sucks, its someting like 10 mintue parking around Lang Park and the Gabba on game day with most parking signs covered by trees otherwise your paying $10 minimum or get to the game 3 hours early.

Otherwise its an OK city, good sporting teams, good nightlife, river is tolerable and all that so its not a bad city...only if they could improve the PT system not only in Brisbane but linking the Gold and Sunshine Coast with more trains....I have to go all the way out to Nambour to catch a train to Brissie.

oh well, its a good city, I cant complain much more. I can see why tourists love it
