QLD schoolies banned?

Is schoolies at the sunshine coast really banned?

No but security has been bumped up. I reckon they should because you look at the drop-kicks like (Party Boy) Corey Worthington and imagine what damage a party with as many kids as schoolies week would cause

I live in QLD.... cant say ive heard of any bans... just more "supervisers" like what they did at the Gold Coast....

No - and too be honest I don't think they could ever ban it, too many kids want to party - they just need better crowd control. The Gold Coast is the worst, there is talk of taking it to a stadium this year.... It's very over-rated there anyhow, so my teenagers mates told him who went last year.

They (the authority in control) won't come straight out and band people of legal age putting together some sort of gathering whether its an protest or a piss up as long as no laws are broken. Its a civil right. They will put in place deterrents to make the whole thing unappealing to only people who will want to go (the young). My wife and I have a daugther of 19 and when she finished school a year ago we trusted her to go to schoolies if she wanted but turn it down. What worries my about all this is the alcohol effected newcomers and high-rises. The police do a good job but I do hate it when people take offence at their presents and abuse them. For without this present you would have the emergence ward at the hospital full all week.

i live on the sunshine coast....they did say it was 'banned' but they havent really.....they are just having an arcahol and drug free end of school celebration ran by the youth center..STUPID COUNCIL-EXACTLY THE SAME THING (except for the youth service)..... its just ben watered down

You cant just ban schoolies anyway as there will always be private parties, street celebrations and all that kind of thing anyway.

there has never been much trouble here on the sunshine coast so I dont know why they are watering it down....becasue the a*seholes in the council are smoking their pot.
