Is the Gold Coast all its cracked up to be? |
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In Surfers Paradise you get exactly what you see. High rise buildings that overshadow the beach. too many people in too small a space. Tacky and expensive activities. Drunken yobbos abound. if you mean the gold coast casino here in las vegas... NOOO! lmao what do you mean?? Oh yes it certainly is. That's if you love beaches. surfing ,nightlife, theme parks and shopping. 40 kilometres of super beaches. islands and fishing. warm weather. National parks with great rain forest walking tracks and water falls. wildlife and fun fun fun, On a more serious note the universities here are excellent. we have a huge student population from many different cultures. I tutor English as a second language and every student I speak to is very happy to be here. No it's not what it's cracked up to be and yes it's tacky the beach is overshadowed in the afternoon by tower blocks, it's garish and plastic it has no community too many transients. it's awesome It's amazing. The water is like crystal and the hotel pricing is reasonable. Not at all like vegas or the french quarter. it is good there is something to do for everybody Its a great place for a hoilday but i wouldnt want to live there but im old so it could be good if shes younger... I used to live on the borderline of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach which was a great place to live. It depends on your age and interests but there is so many great suburbs nearby to choose from if you prefer a quieter place, cheap area, on the beach etc. There is a lot of tourists there but its a positive fresh place! A variety of shopping, attractions, beautiful beaches, work opportunities etc I'd reccomend it! Its busy, and overcrowded with rich old people poor students. Beaches are nice, but things are dear. CANT BEAT THE SPIT ;-) and Cavil avenueeeee! Ils Getting a lot like las vagas every day especially the kids have their end of year school parties and that can be quiet out of the ordinary lots of kids get into heaps of trouble with the police It does absolutely NOTHING for me...I call it plastic city! The gold coast is the best.. moved there when i was 4 and never want to leave (im 19yrs old, studying at uni).. surfers can get a little bit wild, but nowhere near as insane as vegas.. i would suggest that they dont live in surfers, live a little further out (im talking like 10 mins lol) they can still be near the water, it will be cheaper and they can control how much time they want to spend in surfers, it is a great place to party but it gets kind of old (worked nights there for 2 years)... they will absolutely love the coast no everything's a rip off because its so big with tourists, the guys are sleazy and the weather's humid with lots of rain |
