What is there to do in Boston for a person all by themselves early on a Sunday morning?

I will be in Boston this weekend with my wife and sister. We have plans for Saturday night and later in the day on Sunday. The problem is Sunday morning. I am an early riser and they like to sleep in late.

Please don't suggest work out or go for a jog. I work out six days a week and Sunday is my only day off.

Thanks in advance.

Walking around is one thing. Most places don't open till later. I like Trident Booksellers and Cafe on 338 Newbury St for a read, coffee and breakfast! Did i say they have free WIFI if thats your thing! They open i believe at 9am everyday. And then a walk down Newbury Street to the Boston Commons and sitting on a bench watching parents and kids play.. the dogs run around and ...

The cafes in the North End are nice too for coffee and pastry. Then visit a church in the area or walk down and around to Fanueil Hall and enjoy the serenity.

You could always go to church.

explore the area, get something to eat...

Depends on what part of Boston you will be staying and how cold it is when you are there.. I would go for a walk in the historic part of downtown Boston (Fanuel Hall area), Harvard Square, or Copley Square (Boylston and Newbury St.), grab a cup of coffee at a local shop and a newspaper and relax.

L'Aroma Cafe on Newbury St. opens at 8AM on Sunday. If you are a breakfast person, The Paramount on Charles St. opens at 8AM - get there a little early and avoid the wait!

There are many great museums in Boston. The Isabella Stuart Gardener museum is one of my favorites... opens at 11AM if you want to head that way after your morning coffee. And it's free if your name is Isabella!

Jump on "the T", or the MBTA, Boston's mass transit system and just hop around Boston all day. Find a tourist center, get a map of the MBTA, it lists all the stops so you don't get lost, and take a look at some of the brochures to see what's going on, on a Sunday. Because a lot of people have the day off on Sunday, I would think a lot of places would be open, although maybe at reduced hours of operation. I don't know what is open on a Sunday, you may have to ask around. Many of the stops on the T are also at or near places that tourists like to go to, including on Sundays. If you are a church goer, since you mentioned that Sunday is your only day off (and honoring it as the tradtional day of rest?), consider attending an early service at a place of worship for your faith.

Go to Copley Square - you will find the 1st and oldest library in Boston. There is a lot to do (walk on Newbury Street, visit old churches, have a bite to eat) and not to far from there is Cheers!! Have fun!!
