How big is Bruges?

I'm going on a day trip and I'd like to know how big Bruges actually is and whether I might get lost easily? Any ideas? x

As with a lot of cities here in Belgium the city of Bruges isn't small since it includes the little villages surrounding it.
But the actually (old) Bruges isn't all that big. The part that is interesting to visitors is surrounded by a canal. So one good tip, stay inside the boundaries of the canal and you'll be fine.
