How long do you have to be signed up to the ASSEDIC and ANPE before an ACCRE grant is available in France?

ASSEDIC is equivalent to unemployment offices.
ANPE is the job centre.
ACCRE is a grant available to help small businesses start up.

I have been advised to sign up for this before going self employed in France, but have since heard that I have to be unemployed for 6 months before being eligible for the grant?

It pays all your social charges for the 1st year so would be a great help
