Help! First time flyer!?

I'm traveling from Alabama to Denver, CO in like 2 days. First stop is in Tennessee then I'm off to Colorado. I'm sooo nervous! Need advice. How many bags can I bring? What can be in my carry on? What do I need to expect as far as the airport, the ride, the waiting and transitioning? What if it's raining or snowing? Should I be worried? Any advice would be great and please you guys, remember this is my first time, no horror stories please.

Your first flight should actually be something to look forward to. Like be excited, but in a good way. The previous answers are already pretty much detailed and basically cover all your questions. However, addressing your last question, let me assure you, there's absolutely nothing to worry about. Even rain or snow is not that big a deal, these people know what they are doing and they would never ever jeopardize any lives in sue-happy America, so absolutely no need to worry.

Flying is actually the safest thing you can do. Things I'm sure you do on a daily basis, like walking on the sidewalks, going to school by bus, car, or whatever, are actually much more dangerous than flying. So, relax, and most important of all, don't forget to enjoy the flight, you won't get a view like this every day.

ok im only 11 but ever since i was 4 or 5 iv been flying every year to California its not that scary and if you throw up they have barf bags and bring one carry on don't bring liquids in the carry on bag

check this website www.tsa.gov thats where i found answers to my questions. i also was a 1st time flyer until last week. its no biggie after the first take off then landing.

I'm not sure but I think now you can check in two bags normally. What you can't bring in your carry on is anything like scissors, maybe nail clippers, box-cutters, etc. You can bring things likes snacks or books. Usually a carry on is for things you need right away or valuables you don't want to check on the plane. The people loading your luggage can be rough so breakables probably wouldn't be something I'd pack. Delay times vary depending on the weather and when the plane gets ready for boarding, and I wouldn't be worried about rain or snow either. I hope this helps and you have a safe trip!

Well, you are allowed too bring 2 luggages (each can be up to 50 pounds) plus you are allowed to bring a carry on luggage (Usually around 20x18x8) plus a personal item (Back Pack, Purse, Brief Case, etc...)

You can put almost anything in your luggages (That you check) that isn't alive, explosive, just be smart, nothing dangerous. If you do decide to pack something sharp, tell the TSA agent when he takes your luggage when you check it in. (Like a cooking set with knives, needles, idk) Do NOT check in electronics, take them with your carry-on, because most airlines take little responsibility for lost/stolen/ or damaged luggage.

I would pack a small carry-on with some clothes just in case something does happen to your suitcase and it misses it connection or it shows up late. This way you have some clothes and necessities. If you back luggage's, gels, make sure none of them are more then 3.4OZ if they are in your carry-on. They also all have to be in a little zip lock plastic bag.

When you go through security, take these out and put them in a bin along with your shoes and all other electronics. (Cell Phone, Laptop, MP3 player's)

That pretty much sums it up. Arrive to the airport about 1 1/2 hour early if its a big airport or an hour early if its small. Also remember, there are a lot of first time flyers, if you have any questions, just ask an agent politley and they will be glad to serve you. Just be patient with them, sometimes their job can get really chaotic and stressful.

Let me know if you need any more info!

I just flew from California to North Carolina with a layover in Atlanta. Both flights were nice. A little turbulence on the first flight as it was bad weather in ATL. Otherwise it was smooth.

I flew with 2 small children and a large dog in cargo on Delta Airlines and everyone was so nice and my dog was just fine.

There is nothing to worry about. The pilots and flight crew have done this a million times. Just take some relaxing pills like tylenol PM to relax.

The limit for check in is like 70 pounds and unless your lugging a tv set with you you shouldn't go over that.

when your way up high the weather down below should only affect your take off and landing.

Dont be worried and good luck honey!
