I am trying to choose between two airlines AIRTRAN or DELTA which is better?

If you are just looking to take a flight from point A to B and they both have direct flights, look at the schedule and price to make your choice.

If you are looking at flying alot, in the long run Delta is going to give you more options to redeem miles and you can also get first class upgrades, ability to board first, and other perks based on how much you fly.

Delta flies to more places but Air Tran has gotten better reviews for their service.

There is very little difference between most domestic airlines. Regardless of who you fly, legroom is tight and inflight service is virtually nonexistent. AirTran has a bit less legroom than other airlines that I've flown. Other than that, I can't see any significant difference between them.

Unless you are trying to build frequent flyer miles on a particular airline, take whichever one has the most convenient schedule and the lowest fare.

I have had good experiences with Air Tran . Very nice staff compared to some of the old sky hags on Delta. The equipment is newer and you will not be on an RJ as Air Tran only flys B717 and B737-600 aircraft. If the price is better and the route the same Airtran would be my choice. I believe they also had a $39 upgrade to a business class
