How long is a flight from Seattle to Chicago?

Is it usually a direct flight, or a stop in between? Also, do they usually show movies on a flight like that? Do most planes these days have those little tv monitors on the backs of all the seats now? It's been 15 years since I have flown, and I am sooooo scared! I feel if I take something to calm me down, it's just going to make me more scared. I have been watching movies liek CAST AWAY, and FINAL DESTINATION..... and then all of the sudden, I find out I have to fly across the country. I just hope it's a short, smooth flight, with some kind of entertainment to keep me occupied. Thanks!

To add to an idea from the first answer... women flying them are fully capable and equally well-trained as well.

You can get nonstop flights between Seattle and Chicago. The shortest scheduled currently are 3 hours and 45 minutes with American Airlines; United's fastest flights are scheduled for 3 hrs, 51 mins; Alaska Airlines at 3 hrs, 56 mins.

As far as personal tv at your seat... it depends on the airline and the particular type of plane you get. Frontier and Jetblue have TVs for each passenger, but they also don't offer nonstop flights on this route.

Among the nonstops, I'd probably choose Alaska Airlines, because they have a better reputation for customer service and onboard comfort, and you can rent a portable "Dig-E player" for $10 to take with you to your seat; it has movies and features pre-loaded for you to watch at your leisure. United has a 757 scheduled on this route, and since it's longer than 3 hours, they're supposed to show a movie on the overhead monitors; American's 757s on this route have overhead monitors and $2 charge for headphones, their MD80s on this route do not have any video entertainment.

4 hours. Don't get swept away by movies alone. Men handling these flying machines r very intelligent and are full trust worthy. There is a vide variety of entertainment onboard. Don'y worry. Njoy yr cruise ( of course mid air.....)
