Do I have to be 18 to purchase an airline ticket?

I am thinking about buying a ticket but I'm not of legal age...

so yea... if they are phony can you give me the correct answer..?

1. When you check in for your flight, you have to produce a government issued photo ID.

2. They will see you're an UM. Unaccompanied Minor. If you don't have a parent or legal guardian at check in to sign certain legal papers, you will be denied boarding.

3. If you don't have a government issued photo ID, or a parent or guardian there to sign you through, you're not getting on the aircraft. You just lost whatever money you spent on the ticket, because it won't be refunded.

sorry yes you do. if you have a friend who is 18 they wont give you any problems though.

yes i think you have to be at least 18 or older to buy them ..

Yes. You have to show ID and license I think.

Well, you have to be 18 to be able to have a credit card. Most people use their credit cards to buy tickets, so the unofficial age is 18. You can probably buy a ticket with a debit card (your ATM card as long as it has the VISA or MasterCard logo) but you will need to have enough money to cover the total cost since the debit card is directly linked to the bank account.

why not have your parents buy it for you? You can work out a plan with them and they can just charge it to their credit card. NO trouble for you.

It seems to me that the guy whose nick is jacob s doesnt know beans about the traveling industry as a whole and futhermore he is providing to you some phony answers that he wants you to think that they are considered true.

As a travel agent, here in San Diego, I am constantly on the look out in how I can better my business and to attend a customer.

I can't afford to let any customer (current or future) to leave me because I failed to provided them with a passage to whereever he/she is going. That is going against my possiblities.

Because I entered this industry 28 years ago, I have seen major changes going on and if you provided me a letter
from the responsable party for you to travel, then I will be more than honoured to attend to you and to have you as my customer.

I have to accept each person as he/she is whether or not he/she maybe in his/her teens.

What Soar_2307, who is a travel agent, wrote is crystal clear.

I will try my very best to add some information so that you can understand what he was trying to say.

If you plan to pay for your airline tickets by credit card, then you will definitelt do need to be at least 18 years old but if you are going to pay for them in cash, then there isn't any restriction that I can see.

Please keep in mind that I first began to travel when I was a teenager and look how many years I am travelling.

The difference is how you plan to pay for the tickets and that you must show a valid identification card so as proof of who you are.

I hope I was clear when I answered your question. Please have a good weekend and please don't forget to vote for me!
