Why don't airelines charge cheaper fare for children? |
Why don't airelines charge cheaper fare for children? Because they still use one seat. My guess is because children take up just as much space as adults. You know, they get the same size seats. Just a guess. kf's guess is correct. the airlines charge by the seat used. unless it is a baby in arms then the kid is charged nothing Some still do. Sometimes I get a kiddie discount, sometimes I don't. They use the same amount on the actual aircraft. They charge 67% of the adult fare to infants under the age of 2. A seat is a seat. If you want a seat for your child, then you have to pay regular fares. If they are under the age of 2, then they can sit on your lap. Put it this way, do you get a discount at your grocery store, for food for the children? They sell the seat...not whats sitting in it... Thank you very much "kapn"! These aren't movie theatre seats my friend... They're aircraft seats. |
