How does one prevent someone from canceling the ticket one has reserved and payed for?Any airline safeguards ?

It sounds silly , I have two minor children and an ex in Europe. He has twice canceled flights that I reserved for the children's visits. Once when payed for (the were non-refundable). I had to fly to Europe to pick them up personally and buy new expensive last minute flights. Is there a special fee that one can pay. I do not want to have their father to have the opportunity to take the tickets or cancel them without being informed (actually not at all). Since they are minors he obviously has to know when to pick then up and bring them to the airport but??????????????Help whats there to do? Actually it seems that should one know a persons flight information, any one can claim he is that person and cancel the reservation where are the safeguards???

Ask the Airline

You should call the airline and say that no one is allowed to cancel the flights but you. Then you should also call your lawyer and document each time it happens, as well as the money you've lost by doing it. Because your ex is more than likely responsible for paying that money back to you.

Maybe you should have a word with your lawyer. your ex seems by his acts to be trying to deny you access to your sprogs, and that is something the courts will take a very dim view of.

Failing that, track the bastard down, and keep kicking him in the nuts till he promises to stop being a pillock.

snugglebunny is right.

some airlines can put a "safe" word or code in your reservation, that you must mention before any information can be given, including cancelling the flight.

call your airline to find out for sure before you book.
