I am a diabetic, can I take my diabetic supplies on the plane? |
I am a diabetic, can I take my diabetic supplies on the plane? You won't have any problems, airlines carry passengers with diabetes every day. Just make sure to have all your insulin, testing supplies, and other items together in one place (a seperate bag such as a gallon zip top bag works well) so that you can easily remove them for inspection by the TSA screener when you go through security. Here's a link to the TSA website with more info. You may need to scroll down about 3/4 of the way http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtrav... You can as long as you have a letter from your Doc. and the meds. are in the right bottle. yes as long as you have the perscription label on the bottle and you pack it in a clear ziplock bag YES, JUST MAKE SURE YOUR DOCTOR, GIVES YOU THE PRESCRIPTION AND EXPLAIN YOUR ILLNESS, AND WHY YOU NEED IT. MAKE SUR TO HAVE SEVERAL MADE SO TRHEY CAN SEE IT IS LEGIT. Go to your doctor and get a basic printout of your record. Have him write you scrip for basic refills for whatever.... should you find yourself needing refills wherever you are and all is lost. Yes..... Just Jess is right ... but let me also say ... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER pack your medications!!!!! Especially something as important as insulin!! No matter what rules the TSA decides to come up with, you should never, ever ever check your medication!!! If your bag should get delayed/lost, there is only so much an airline can do for you, especially if you don't have a copy of your prescription. |
