What are my cancellation rights with online airfare? |
My mum has recently purchased a jet 2 ticket online. When filling out her details autofill automaticly used her maiden name rather than her newly married surname. Before she had realised what had happened she had pressed the buy now button. She printed the ticket out and saw the mistake then phoned the airline immediately to request it be changed and was told it would cost 拢50! So she said fine i just want to cancel then (that way she could have rebooked correctly) but was told this would cost 拢40. Surely it is written somewhere we have a right to cancel especially since it was the same day? She cant leave it as her passport states her new surname. Is there anything we can do? Sorry...gotta get it right the first time....or its gonna cost ya.. Sorry, that's their policy. I'm guessing there was a "I have read and agree to..." button that she had to click before making her purchase. I don't think you will be able to do anything now. I book about 15 flights a year on line and have only had one problem but there was not getting out of it. |
