Singapore Airlines: is it really THAT much nicer?

Everyone I talk to says that after flying Singapore Airlines (even in Coach) they don't want to fly any other airline afterwards. Why is this? What's so great? Food? Service? More room? The On-Demand movies?

I will fly with SIA in next few weeks from Frankfurt to JFK and return SIA麓s flight25.

I flown SIA to Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea and USA (LAX, SFO); many flights in all. And, Singapore Airlines IS that much better. Let me break it down for you.

1. Nothing is more important than safety. Singapore Airlines always has the best pilots (I have few friends who are SQ pilots). The planes are always new. SIA is the one who sells used aircrafts, not buys. This is evident in SIA being the first to fly the Airbus 380.

2. Hygiene to me is very important. In such a tight space, and especially on long haul flights, it is importants that the flight is clean. You will find that the plane is always kept clean and the lavatories always look the same as when you just boarded.

3. Food is incredible. A nice menu with a choice of international and asian cuisine, and ice cream is standard across all classes. Nice silverware, not plastic ones. Since your flight is quite long, there will be snacks in between: breads, crackers, fruits etc. You will not definitely not be hungry.

4. The on flight entertainment has always been good and exceeding expectation. I recently fly SIA and have seen the February movies. They are excellent. I prefer watching TV shows though., especially network television comedies.

5. In terms of service, I have to say that it has improved in the last 3 years. But hey, what do I know, I have only flown coach.

Anyway, that is my take on Singapore Airlines. Have fun, you'll be taking the Boeing 747 which is the one I have taken the most.

Truly SIA is the best!!

Everything on Singapore Airlines, the food, the in flight entertainment , the service and the beautiful flight attendants are great, you don't get anymore room on most of their economy class flights. There are a few other airlines like Cathay Pacific that I think are just as good, but it's their business and 1st class products that that really stand out. In economy they are better than most all other airlines, but it's not just the fact that they are better, it's just that most other airlines are so bad in comparison.

i can say so... yes, their singapore girl are not that pretty.. but they do their job best.. as for me, singapore girl are the nicest F/A compare to other airlines... some of the other F/A of some airlines might be rude.. but not SIA..

hey, why dont you try
Malaysia Airlines
and tell me what you think..
just that i'm MAS F/A
