Anyone have experience getting through US airport security without ID?

My vacation from hell just keeps getting better. My wallet with all of my identification was stolen. The airline told me to get there extra early because I would be scrutinized by security. Anybody know what they're going to do to me?

You'll have to be given a hand search by someone of the same sex. It's not a big deal and should add maybe 5 minutes
to getting thru security. It's actually not that un-common a problem. You will not be the 1st person that has ever had to do this.....by a long shot. Don't worry and don't have an attitude when it happens....they gotta do it so laugh and smile and enjoy the trip.

Pat you down and search your bags. Pretty much the same thing they do with just about everyone else.

As long as it's a domestic flight, you really shouldn't have any real issues. Just explain what happened to the ticket agent, and whoever is supposed to check your ticket and I.D., they'll send you for additional screening, and... no big deal.

If you are flying on Delta make sure you call that airline.
If you show up with no ID what so ever I don't think you will get on.
When you get to the ticket counter tell them what happened.
You will have your carry on as well as your checked bags searched so don't take a bunch of stuff in your checked bag if your not gonna use or wear it.
At the check point they will tell by your boarding pass that you are to receive extra screening.
Not a big deal just don't wear a bunch of metal that you have to take off before going thru...anything to slow down the process.
They will search thru all your carry on items so pack light if possible it will cut down on the time it takes to go thru your stuff.

Make sure you are checking in at the ticket counter 90 mins before your flight departs.
