Snack on continental airlines flight? |
We are departing from Orange County airport for 3 hours to Houston. Then Houston to Costa Rica for another 3 hours. Both flights say "snack". Can anyone tell me what to expect? Am I really only going to get mixed nuts both times? Depending on the time of day of your flight, snack simply refers to a small meal. Which means its more than your peanut or pretzel handout. If you go on a morning flight you'll probably get a cereal w/milk and a fruit. Lunch snack can be a sandwich with chips or small salad and a candy bar. Dinner snack can be a hot sandwich, personal pizza, salad, etc with a smallish dessert or again candy bar/chocolate. Since you are traveling international it may be spruced up a bit but not by much. If you have a decent layover try to pickup something quick from the food courts in Houston. Most international flights leave out of terminal E and you'll have various options there like Panda Express, Wendy's, Le Petit Bistro, Starbucks, etc...Oh and of course you get the complimentary sodas, juices, coffee; alcoholic drinks are $5 You might, when I went to Maimi in October, they gave me mixed nuts on the way down and a small sandwich and pop on the way back. Probably pretzels or nuts. i flew with them almsot 2 years ago and they give you a garden salad with ranch dressing it's so good and comes with mini twix candy bar. it also comes with bbq chicken sandwich but i gave that to my little sister i and got her salad since i dont eat meat. now im flying alone with us airways no idea about them. I suspect you are right. You may luck out and get an apple. The meals the airlines sell are not that bad. The problem is that because of OSAMA and other logistics you are looking at a 10 hour day not six. From Orange County to Houston you will probably get nuts, and an option to pay for a meal... from Houston to Costa Rica you will probably be provided a small meal (free) since it is international... Hope you have a nice flight! |
