How is Port Adelaide SA for living? |
I am about to inmigrate with my family, I would like to know if Port Adelaide is a good and secure place to rise a family, any information will be appreciated. Some of the old area are being re-done, and some very nice high price housing in these. However the Port has a larger area of unemployment or low wages jobs and the crime rate appears to be higher than in some other areas of Adelaide. It's nice to visit a couple of the markets and historical sites in the area but I think I would do more research before making a decision. Port Adelaide is basically the Port and a bit of industrial area . Very busy . plenty of Trucks on the road. South of the port is some lovely beaches Glenelg is very nice but along the beach front there is mainly holiday accomodation and hotels , once you get to Adelaide visit a few schools and make your mind clearer on what area to live with Children Was once a port slum area, much like the west end in london. Has recently taken the interest of young upwardly mobile, doing renovations. Massive redevelopment currently taking place on the old docks with high rise apartments, although trendy. Suburb is good but surrounded by some very undesirable ones. |
