What wineries and restaurants are worth visiting in the Barossa and Adelaide Hills?

What wineries and restaurants are worth visiting in the Barossa and Adelaide Hills?

There is heaps of big name wineries in the Barossa. I would probably pick the ones that interest you based on where you are staying. If you go on a tour, they take you to a good mix of the big and small wineries. Having said that, a personal favourite of mine is Langmiel Winery - it is a boutique winery and had lovely stuff last time I was there. A fab restaurant in Tanunda is 1918, we had one of the best meals ever in there.
If you head towards the Southern Vales in the hills, again, there is a great mix of small and big wineries. My personal faves are Wirra Wirra and Fox Creek. The main road through McLaren Vale has a few really good cafes along there, such as Market 190 and Oscars.
Have fun!

All the wineries, their excellent. The big names are there and brilliant products.

Not sure about the restaurants though.

Try Petaluma's "Bridgewater Mill", at Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills. They have a good range of wines to taste, and an award winning restaurant as well.
In the Barossa, look up "Pheasant Farm", it's a restaurant that Maggie Beer started. I haven't been there for some time, so just check that it is in operation.
Generally, you won't go wrong with any of the wineries in these destinations. Contact "Tourism SA" for maps at winery locations.
Happy travels!

Chateau Barossa was my favourite winery in Barossa. They also have a lovely rose garden. The Queen has even visisted this place.
Below is a link for you.

In the Barossa?? None they are all ripp offs!!

That's hard to answer without knowing your tastes. But if you'd like to stay in an area and browse small but excellent wineries and restaurants, you could think about a few days in the Clare Valley, north of Adelaide. It's only a little farther away than the Barossa, but far nicer, I think. The countryside is greener, the people are friendlier, the towns are smaller and the whole places is less brash and commercial than the Barossa.

The Clare Valley white wines are superb - possibly the best in Australia - and many of the reds are great too - though I prefer the Barossa for the really big, robust red wines.

Even the local pubs in the Clare valley have excellent meals, with of course extensive cellars. You can usually find affordable accommodation such as a bed and breakfast or a cottage. If you Google for accommodation in places like Auburn, Sevenhill, Watervale and Clare itself you'll find plenty of options.
